Dwelling in Him

Dwelling in Him

Have you heard the song, Better is one day? I love that song. You can listen to it here on YouTube.

It's a worship song taken from Psalm 84:10.

If I don't seek and dwell in Him everyday, I can tell. Negative emotions, feelings, past hurts, worries, stress, distractions, and sin. It all will sneak in more and more each day I'm not connecting with our God. I feel it. We need to unplug from distractions and plug into God. He is the only One that offers true peace, healing, restoration, hope, love, and joy!

Where is your hiding place? I go to my bedroom, kneel beside or lay on my bed with bible in hand. I read the word. Then I pray. Sometimes I cry out. I surrender all to God, all the negative junk the enemy throws at me. I pray over my thoughts and emotions. I remind myself that we do not fight flesh and blood but we are in a spiritual battle. Ephesians 6:12. I pray for the person or situation that I'm struggling with. I imagine I have my head on Jesus' lap and that He is listening with a loving heart. Depending on what I'm dealing with sometimes I have to go to this place more than once a day. Surrendering ALL to our Loving God.

Let's pray.

Dear Lord,
Your word tells us how much You love us, you wait for us to seek You and that You woo us to Youself.  I pray that we can disconnect from things that distract us from You. Guide us, as we seek that hiding place in You. I surrender all to You, right now Lord. All sin, distractions, negative feelings, emotions, baggage, pain and anything that keeps me from staying focused on You. I pray for healing, restored joy, restored peace, and restored health. I pray over our finances. I know you our the Great Provider.  I surrender all to You because I know you are the only One who can make things all better. Help me to find my strength in You and You alone. Help me, guide me and teach me to be the woman, wife and mother that You want me to be. Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand else where. Put your song in my heart. Thank you Lord for Your healing and restoration. I praise You for the peace I have in You. You are worthy! You are my King of Kings! Amen.

**I encourage you to press into God everyday. Be determined to pray and read your bible everyday. You will find peace and restoration in our Lord and Savior.  Where is your hiding place in the Lord?

Blessings,
Daughter of the King
Starla J.

  1. I love it! Its nice to hear about a busy mother purposely taking a break to spend time with God. I catch myself thinking negatively sometimes instead of having meaningful conversations with our Father, and it is such a waste of life!!!

  3. Thank you for the gentle reminder. I sometimes tend to fool myself into believing I am doing enough to cultivate my relationship with God by reading/listening to the bible at the start of my day. But then I think . . . how much of that did I absorb . . . . how much more time do I spend on the internet that I could be spending praying or reading. I needed this reminder. Thank you! God bless :)
