Pouring into their lives...

Girls Ministry...

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
(Psalm 127:3-5 ESV)

Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.
(Proverbs 17:6 ESV)

The bible is very clear about children. They are gifts from God. Blessings. Loved by God. Blessed is the man who fills his home with them. I am beyond blessed to have two blessings of my own. I have a little girl, age 9 and a little boy, age 5. I do not have words to express the love and joy I have in my heart for my little munchkins. 

My daughter is the reason I joined the Girls Ministry Clubs team at Gateway Assembly of God.  If my daughter wants to join, then I'm there to help out, since I'll be there anyway bringing her to club meetings. This May will be 2 years of volunteering with this Ministry. I'm the Girls Ministry Coordinator, meaning I'm not in a class room normally. I do more of the paperwork, ordering supplies, planning events  & behind the scene stuff. So when I fill in for one of the club teachers I get to enjoy the evening one on one with the girls. 

This was the case last night. I filled in for the Stars Club leader. The Stars Club is girls in grades 3rd-5th. What a fun age! We talked about Friendship, True Friendship, while they colored and doodled on construction paper. Each girl, with her own personality, loved having time to share her opinion with each question or thought sharing moment. 

 I loved taking their prayer request. Each girl had such a big heart! They requested prayer for their parents, family members health or safety, and friends who are sick. They even prayed for their family pets. I love them all! They are so precious to God and that means they are precious to me. I am blessed to be apart of this ministry. 

I challenge you to get involved in a ministry where you can pour into the kids in your community. I can not speak highly enough about Girls Ministry Clubs. The clubs are broken down by age groups. Starting with the Rainbow club and pre K kiddos. Ending with the Girls Only club and High School/College age girls. Both are somewhat similar to Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts but with Christ centered curriculum. 

Lets pray today for our kids and the kids in our community. Let's pray for the teachers, leaders and volunteers that pour into their lives. Let's pray for a new passion and healing to be poured out on them. All for His glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
