Recipe: Chicken Flautas

This is my daughter's favorite meal. She regularly asks for chicken flautas. We top it with shredded lettuce, avocado sauce and sour cream. My son likes sour cream only on his.

Ingredients:

Boneless Chicken Breast
Salt to taste
Corn Tortillas
Oil

Boil chicken breasts till done. Set aside to cool.
Shred chicken.

Wrap a handful of corn tortillas in a clean kitchen towel
and heat for 3 mins in microwave.

Place a small amount of shredded chicken on a tortilla.

Roll tortilla and pin closed with 2 tooth picks.

Continue till all shredded chicken is rolled up in tortillas.
I put two chicken filled tortillas together like pictured below.

Heat oil in skillet. Carefully place the rolled tortillas in skillet.
Fry till brown on each side.

Golden brown yumminess.

Topped just the way I like it!

I hope you enjoy this meal as much as my family does.

  4. Pinning this!!! I haven't EVER made flautas! I don't know why...I guess I've just never taken the time to do it. I make everything else...just not flautas. When I see these, though, I can't resist the temptation to give it a try! I wonder if they'd come out the same if I fried them in the deep fryer? Hmmmm....I'll do a test to see!
