I've been away.

It was grand....

I've not been blogging for a while and I loved it. Why? Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee or tea and let me share with you what I've been up to the last few months.

Homecoming! That's right my husband returned from a deployment overseas! yay! Praise God for his and the units safe return! I missed him so much and prayed for him everyday. More than words can express, oh who I missed him. It was hard. It was our first deployment as well. It has been great having him home. Like most families reconnecting and getting used to a new normal has had good days and bad, but through God's grace we are doing just fine.

Mexico! Mexico baby!! Yes! We have family that live there and we went on an extended vacation after the deployment to get away and spend time together and visit family we rarely see. I truly got spoiled spending every day with my husband, touring the beautiful cities, seeing the breathtaking views of the countryside, eating yummy food and spending time with family. The weather was perfect. We experienced the Christmas and New Year holiday traditions that are observed in that part of the country.

Now we are home and trying to get to a new normal routine. Back to work, homeschooling, homemaking, etc. It's been great, but my heart secretly yearns to go back to our days in Mexico when I got to spend every day with my husband and kids. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for my husbands job and my duties at home.

I'm not sure how often I'll be blogging. My goal is twice a week and sharing my thoughts, journey in life, homeschooling fun and recipes. Thank you for spending this time with me as I share my life.

Here are some fun pictures from our family fun.

 More than blessed,

Starla J.

  4. I wasn't done with that first comment, so if you could delete it, that would be great! I was saying I can't imagine what an adjustment it must be for your husband to be gone. When he gets back, I'm sure is difficult as well. I praise and thank your family for all the sacrifices you give for our country.
