Ways to Deal with Fear in Your Life.

Are you in a season of fear in your life?

Do you feel like an Esther going before the king. Trembling and afraid for your life. Knowing you are not allowed to enter in before the King. You reproach yourself for being timorous and yet you know you must walk through this life altering event for the very existence of your family is at stake.

What about Daniel? The bible says he was around 80 years old when he went into the lions den. Do you think he felt a restless fear, even for a moment, while in the lions den? Do you think he felt the shivering terror of the enemy circling and honing in on him? Do you think he might have been frustrated with God; that in his later years he had to walk through what we might assume to be the worst trial of his life?

Do you feel like Moses' mother, blinded by your own tears, unable to breath as your chest tightens and your world falls in on top of you. Inhaling the sweet aroma of your infant as you put him in the basket and set it out on the water? She must have had to dig down really deep, into the deepest depths of her being, to trust God with the life of her baby.

Sometimes we go through fearful seasons in our life. We have to make the choice to stand steady during those seasons that threaten to tear us apart.

Scripture on fear

Ways to Deal with Fear in Your Life.

#1 Talk to God: You don't need a special template or instructions. Just pray in whatever way you know how. You don't have to speak special words, yell, jump around nor get it approved. Just pray. Just talk to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

#2 Choose to trust God: Surrender, with all abandonment, what you cannot control, over to God and advance in faith. Know that whatever happens; God loves you. It is a decision you must make every day and every moment of everyday. Proverbs 3:5

#3 Know who you are in Christ: You are loved, cherished, wanted, enough, a child of God, temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, forgiven, chosen, anointed, you have a sound mind and have the authority to trample your enemy under your feet! Encourage yourself daily in the Word of God.  2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Peter 2:9, Romans 8:1, John 1:12, 1 Corinthians 6:19 the list goes on. Do your research!

#4 Believe God will work everything out for good: All things are not good, however; God will use all things for good to those who love Him. We cannot allow ourselves to get cornered in this moment of fear; like some victim in a dead-end alley, heart pounding, knowing its hunter is in the shadows about to strike.  We do not see the bigger picture. The spiritual realm. It's real. God knows what is going on and He will keep His promises. Remind yourself. Romans 8:28

All throughout the Bible there are stories of people who recognized that they could not do what was asked of them without God's help. Let's follow their example by leaning on God for everything!

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

We all will walk through seasons of being fearful. That's okay. It's how we manage that fear that is imperative.
